Art on Display

The arts help make our community strong and vibrant, and that's why we have a community room that displays work by local artists. If you enjoy art, be sure to check out the art display the next time you visit Town & Country Bank. Photography, painting, textiles - whatever the medium, we think you'll be impressed by the talent and creativity of our Kansas City featured artists.

February Artist – Mike McMullen

He began his passion for black and white photography when he received his first camera at the age of 14. Mike served as editor for his High School yearbook staff and won the photojournalism contest at KU’s William Allen White School of Journalism. His experience also includes serving as a staff photographer at the Stanford Daily newspaper and internship for UPI at Kauffman Stadium. Spending an afternoon with famed photographer Ansel Adams has inspired Mike to pursue photographs of mood landscapes, historical landmarks, vintage architecture and other timeless scenes that seem to speak through black and white images.

Mike’s photography is a product of light, film, and traditional darkroom techniques. No computers are used. The entire creative process is controlled by the artist. The opportunity for creative craftsmanship in the darkroom is intimately connected with the artistic process and always true to the original image: nothing is substituted, deleted or staged.
